Found her in a fairy tale I was the frog prince Never had the luxury of something like this We both needed saving And life was a pill That was hard to swallow At the time that we fell In love with one another At least that's what I thought She probably planned our demise Shortly after the start When she felt it wasn't working (She) never uttered a word She said that I used her At least that's what I heard She never said a word It was a surprise to me I didn't have a clue I thought that we had something here But she gave up on us Made a joke out of me I hope she had her fun 'cause all if this made me think When we last left our hero I was just getting home Add insult to injury Via telephone Her dogs relayed her message And had some words of their own I listened in denile Til all was left was a dial tone From there I was in limbo While she's having a laugh I wondered why she didn't speak On her own behalf It's probably 'cause she's full of shit And might be afraid That she would question all her motives And the choices she made She never said a word It was a surprise to me I didn't have a clue I thought that we had something here But she gave up on us Made a joke out of me I hope she had her fun 'cause all of this made me think that I'm glad she cut me loose She was a waste of time It took a little bit To let it sink into my mind That anyone can change In the blink of an eye Even someone you love And that's a lesson to be applied

tin man 03:48
Lost in the pages, you found me And you knew right away That something was missing when you listened With your ear to my chest and heard A silent song that sings Of a missing heart it seems and Among the more peculiar things You found a hero in need of saving It's been a while since a smile Has ever graced this beaten path I've mostly met my share of thieves And what you see is all that's left Of a man or something less With this echo in my chest Just this hollow shell precedes me Makes me wonder what you see in me when There are kings and there are castles And champions for miles And there are fairy tales That will make it worth your while But you see something in me That in faith deserves a chance And you filled the spot of the missing heart Of this tin man She took my hand when it was cold But she never did let go Now every day this beat grows stronger It took her heart to make me whole And as I shed my armored skin You start to see the man within The man she always knew was there That no disguise could keep her eyes from seeing There are kings and there are castles And champions for miles And there are fairy tales That will make it worth her while But not all happy ever afters Are found in the stories that you know Sometimes they're in the ones You make your own When so many empty seasons changed I never thought I'd see the day When someone would consider me More than what I appear to be And in that time I spent alone That was long enough to call it home Just when I seemed content You show up and prove me wrong Now I'm standing here before you With all my confessions in my eyes And there are things that they may show you That my words fail to describe You're the light beyond the trees That was always out of reach And with one little twist of fate You became the better part of me There are kings and there are castles And champions for miles And there are fairy tales That will make it worth you're while But not all happy ever afters Are found in the stories that you know Sometimes they're in the ones You make your own

chapter 04:50
Sitting there just staring into space With a cold cup of coffee resting on the table She's preoccupied with everything that's going on Or not in her life She may have a lot to say But right now her mind Is as blank as the page Of her attempt to document All that she may wanna change ('cause she feels) Like she's stranded On a deserted island And the only message in the bottle she found Was not meant for her And she prays for some better days With hopes that they're only a sunrise away 'cause she's doing all that can be done To make her world change She walks like she's in A losing battle with gravity Like it weighs on her so much It even keeps her eyes fixed onto the street Now the sky may be the limit but it seems that her present Has clipped her wings And since her fall from grace It appears that she Doesn't have much faith in anything ('cause she feels) Like she's stranded On a deserted island And the only message in the bottle she found Was not meant for her And she prays for some better days With hopes that they're only a sunrise away 'cause she's doing all that can be done To make her world change She would say that her world was flat 'cause she swears she's seen the edge so many times She looks for places that may have some trace Of a memory more heartfelt and kind To set the tone to get her out of the cold And help put the ease back in her mind To be free of this chapter, to look back and laugh at the moment when she was feeling.. Like she's stranded On a deserted island And the only message in the bottle she found Was not meant for her And she prays for some better days With hopes that they're only a sunrise away 'cause she's doing all that can be done To make her world not feel Like she's stranded On a deserted island And the only message in the bottle she found Was not meant for her And she prays for some better days With hopes that they're only a sunrise away 'cause she's doing all that can be done To make her world change

The genius in youth The universe of their minds Spans farther than the eyes can see It's overlooked as a dream The senses become limiting When we build walls around our being Building labyrinths Breeding distance Keeping us from our true meaning I close my eyes to see Pride is a curse we breathe The true lesson is buried deep Within humility We don't grow up from the ground We grow from the center out Making all that is out of reach A little closer No direction eluding We rise.. we fall And we rise and we fall And we rise and we fall But when will we.. when will we When will we rise ..and rise..and rise ..and rise? The genius in youth The universe of their minds Spans farther than the eyes can see It's overlooked as a dream We rise.. we fall And we rise and we fall And we rise and we fall But when will we.. when will we When will we rise ..and rise..and rise ..and rise ..and rise..and rise..and rise..and rise?

about

canvas radio Staten Island, New York

Canvas Radio, a name born by combining the idea that both the canvas and radio are two mediums that allow an artist of sorts to share their works with the masses; and in the Spring of 2010, the native Staten Island band that bares it's name was founded by drummer Greg Schwab, bassist Mike Diamantopoulos and singer/songwriter Charlie Toro to put together a collection of cleverly crafted songs! ... more
